This just in - both masses were cancerous, as I'd expected. It's "papillary carcinoma, infiltrative follicular subtype". The tracheal scrapings and lymph nodes removed were not affected - yay - but unfortunately, the surgeon was unable to get clean margins. As a result, I'll be radioactive for a bit in a coupla months. My endocrinologist will be the one who schedules that for me.
